30 weeks pregnant!!!

How far along:  30 weeks!!
How big is baby:

At 30 weeks, your belly’s doing more than just making it tough to find a comfortable sleeping position. It’s made itself a conversation piece. Everywhere you go, someone seems to have a comment about your physical appearance, which isn’t always so fun. And no doubt, you’ve encountered quite a few people who don’t think before they speak and say something embarrassing or hurtful (what’s up with that?) Try not to take those comments seriously, but know which ones should be taken to heart. Like when they tell you you’re glowing, believe them! And take advantage of some of the perks (when someone offers you their seat on the train -- take it!) At week 30, your dreams might be getting even weirder -- if you’re actually sleeping, that is. That could be a result of anxiety, so consider doing some prep work to help you rest easier. One idea? Do a test drive to see exactly how long it really takes you to get to the hospital. Then maybe you’ll stop having nightmares about giving birth in your car.

Your baby's the size of a squash!
Your 15.2- to 16.7-inch, 2.5- to 3.8-pound baby continues to grow.

your baby at 30 weeks
  • His skin is getting smoother.
  • But his brain is getting wrinklier -- to make way for all that essential brain tissue.
  • He's now strong enough to grasp a finger!

pregnancy symptoms at 30 weeks
  • Heartburn, which might be making sleep hard to come by.
  • Swelling -- it's totally normal, as long as it's not sudden or severe.
  • General discomfort, thanks to your big belly.
  • Shortness of breath. Those lungs just keep getting more crowded, right?
  • Trouble sleeping, which leads to another issue: Fatigue.
  • Weird, vivid dreams. One word (a familiar one): Hormones.

Maternity clothes: yup definitely... I am going to pick up some more tank tops today, mine have all shrunk somehow ;)
Sleep: Not sleeping well at all.  It's starting to get to the point of making me crazy.  I lay in bed SO exhausted and my legs are restless and I can't sleep and I'm super uncomfortable.  Joy :P lol
Best moment of the week: One of my baby showers is tomorrow!! That will be so fun!
Food aversions: Nothing really.
Food cravings: I wanted some coffee this week, so I stopped by Starbucks on the way home from my doctor's appointment and satisfied that with a decaf coffee.
Symptoms: Nausea, vomiting, leg cramps, restless legs is the worst one, Round ligament pain, back pain, knee/hip pain, uncomfortable, and peeing 24/7.
Movement:  All sorts of movement every day!
What I’m looking forward to: Baby showers :)
Next appt: In 2 weeks!  My appointment this week went amazing, and I'll definitely have to make a post of it's own about discussing a med-free, intervention free birth plan at a hospital.

  1. that is awesome! it will be time for him to be here before you know it! enjoy those baby kicks!

  2. We are almost at the same stage, I'm 31 weeks and can completely relate to all of your comments. Looking forward to following you and see how it is for you over the coming weeks.
